The weeks have rushed by in a blur, faster and faster, painted with school assignments, photo sessions, scholarships, and art projects. Every once in awhile his name still comes to my mind, his smile, and his laugh. Grief is a funny thing, I may have days where I couldn’t be more excited for life, and the next, all I can remember, is the moment when we heard that he was gone.
But God has a few promise to give to us, when we face grief.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…”
Psalm 34:18 NIV
“You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book.” Psalms 56:8 The Message
He knows our pain.
“Jesus Wept”
John 11:35 NIV
I would love to hear the verses that have, or are, bringing you through a season of grieving.
Just remember, we are not alone.
Love,
Jessica

Thank you sweet Jessica
I think about caleb often also and like king david, I take my sorrow to God our maker in total unleashed worship.
I have always held close Isaiah 41:13, For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.
Last year I lost three people in my life; my grandmother, my friend Samantha, and my brother’s best friend/my brother from another mother Stirling. Each passing was devastating and heartbreaking… After Sam’s passing I found 2 Corinthians 12:10, “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” The verse was like a breath of fresh air for me. Literally all I could do after reading that verse was cry and saying, “Yes! Yes! YES! Thank you, God!” It just reminded me that it is OKAY to be sad, and it is OKAY to mourn… because every time we feel like we’re at our weakest, that we can’t get back up again, and that it’s never going to get better… God uses all of that to build us up again, to make us stronger, to help us stand taller. It’s helped so much in everything that’s happened this past year… I even got it tattooed on my wrist! God is good and He’s always there during every situations, even if we don’t see Him right away, He’s always there.
