Today was a milestone. Today was a day I have dreamed about for over 19 months. Yes, today was my birthday (I don’t have to say how old I am, do I? :)) and yes, my sweet labradoodle, Annie, is currently in labor and having puppies. But the reason I woke up at 5:45 a.m. this morning was because we launched our registration for our first ever Intensive at the Delight House. Within 15 minutes, we had all but ONE SPOT filled!! We still have one spot left for the wedding intensive on September 14-17. . . so check out the website for more details!
With two months away from girls flying in all the way from Florida, we still have quite a few things that we need to do in order to get it ready! Our main issue is dealing with some plumbing issues. . .that’s always a fun one! ;) We also would love to build the front porch, but know it isn’t a necessity. But what we do need is kitchen items like cookie sheets, knives, serving bowls, a toaster, etc. We also need quilts, blankets & pillows for five beds as well as rugs for the floor! There is an online registry that lists both needs and wants. I have been so incredibly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support the last month. We have marked off so many “needs” and the cupboards are getting fuller by the day! Thank you to all of you who have so graciously given. It is truly starting to feel like a home!
Here is how you can help! First of all, we really would ask for your prayers. Secondly, we have things listed on the registry that start under $10. There is also a place where you can give a cash donation if you’d like to help with expenses such as plumbing and building a porch. You can find the registry here! We also would welcome things like cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, a broom, vacuum, used washer and dryer, etc. We would be blessed by second hand items, so if you live locally and happen to be getting rid of household items, please let me know!
Thank you all for being part of this very long and faith-filled journey! As many of you know, this project took a year longer than expected due to the firestorm that devastated our community. This precious home was spared within feet of burning down, so this house means a lot to me and our family. We pray that God uses it mightily for His glory. I literally opened up to Hebrews 3:4 this morning and smiled from ear to ear. . .”For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.” I have known since the beginning of this journey that I was meant to take the steps to get the house ready. . .that I was being obedient to what He asked me to do. But I KNOW that HE is the builder and that He will use this home to bring healing from the past and hope for the future. I feel so honored, blessed and so incredibly excited to see what God has in store for the future!
