Delight & Be’s Big Sisters

Did you know we have an incredible group of over 600 young women in our online community? This is a beautiful safe place where girls have gotten to know each other online. . .where friendships have formed and where God has allowed us to  get to know each other, ask tough questions, encourage and pray for one another.

We have a group of older women who have committed to moderate, disciple, answer questions, serve and love the girls in the online group. We call them the “Big Sisters”! I am so thankful for each one of them who have invested in the girls lives. Today, I asked one of our big sisters, Hope Bridgeman, to share her thoughts about Delight & Be!

“Delight is a place most girls call safe and a community. It’s a place where love and truth are honored and shared. It’s a place to grow, be challenged, encouraged, prayed for, and fought for. It’s a place where the Spirit dwells and love flows.

Our goal in Delight is to encourage girls in the passions that God has given them as well as spur them on in their walk and relationship with the Lord. We want the girls to learn how to use their gifts to the best of their ability in order to bring glory to His name. Being a Big Sister has pushed me in my walk with the Lord and taught me what what John 15:12&13 is really talking about when Jesus says, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. ” These girls go above and beyond for one another in showing love, praying, and encouraging one another. It is truly inspiring.

I am one of the “Big Sister’s” in Delight, and I can honestly say that it has been life changing. Our role as a Big Sister is to come alongside of these girls. To show them how much we love them, pray for them, mentor and support them. I have seen lives changed through Delight, and seen girls grow leaps and bounds in their walks with the Lord and the gifts that He has given them. Being a Big Sister is more then just being there for the girls when they need us. It’s about loving them like we are called to love and living out the example that Jesus has given us. It’s about pursuing their hearts like Christ pursues us, and giving them someone they can count on and come to with anything.

I have loved being a part of Delight so far and I know in my heart of hearts that the Lord has amazing things in store for each and every girl here. The Lord has this ministry and girls in the palm of His hand and is only holding on tighter as we continue to grow – in and through His grace.”
