Let’s be honest. If it’s not raining in Seattle, then something is certainly a little funny with the weather. And on this particular day, it was like many other days. The rain was drizzly and pinging off rooftops and bouncing off foreheads and making the soles of shoes all sorts of a disaster for those who are clumsy…like me. ;) This particular winter day at Pike’s Place Market was full of freezing cold air, but inside the market, where everyone seemed to be, there were food items that would have ANYbody wanting to try everything and likely purchase it too. From vividly tinted tangerines to authentic European bakeries, a line down the street at the original Starbucks to a street vendor selling the best. Greek. yogurt. you. will. ever. eat.
I’ve been on the hunt to find this exact Greek yogurt for sale in Portland, and YOU GUYS!!! I FOUND A MARKET HERE! No, like…this is better than a Christmas present. This isn’t just any ordinary yogurt. We’re talking the richest, yummiest, tastiest, most unique REAL Greek yogurt ever made. Made fresh daily, Ellenos Greek Yogurt is incomparable. From flavors like fresh passionfruit to pumpkin pie with chunks of REAL pumpkin pie in it…I was toast. I’m pretty sure after I tasted every single flavor, because I mean…
We settled on two kinds, passionfruit and their marionberry pie. Ahh. It was so good. So for all of you in the Portland area who need to get a taste of this yogurt, head over to Zupan’s Market for some! Don’t worry, I called them yesterday just to make sure they carry it, and the shelf life, and all the deets. He assured me it’s delivered fresh regularly and it’s just as good as ever. So, if you ever make a trip there…just let me know, because I’m either already there re-filling my stock, or I’m on my way to ;) It’s that good.
Off my soapbox of yogurt…
Pike’s Place is the famous landmark of Seattle, but it’s so fun you guys. To get a big glass of bubble tea and try the maple glazed walnuts, take a little stroll down to the infamous gum wall and grab yourself a piping hot bowl of Beecher’s Mac and Cheese. Ahhhh. Just thought I’d share a bit of my winter adventure to the Emerald City, where rain is almost always guaranteed and their Greek yogurt is worth the trip!!! :)
