Hey gorgeous, by now you’ve met over half of our team and I am so thrilled to meet you as well. My name is Anna Filly. I’m a photographer, writer, dreamer and red lipstick wearer, who loves to travel, drink coffee, and views life like it’s an exotic adventure.
It’s a unique adventure for each of us, and I want you to know a little secret: you’re gonna change the world.
Boom. Sha-zam. Bam.
I should just drop the mic and exit stage right, but since I’m blogging, there’s no mic involved, and dropping my computer would be too dramatic- even for me.
I need you to do me a favor: say it out loud. Literally – wherever you are- say: “I’m gonna change the world“.
……
I’ll wait until you’ve done it.
…..
Saying it in your head doesn’t count….
……
Are you gonna do it?
…..
What’s stopping you?
Ohhhhh, oh oh. I get it- you’re worried about what others may think? Or is it that you don’t believe you can change the world?
Either way, that’s okay. That’s why we’re here. See, fear stops us from REALLY living.
There are some of us who are simply enduring life when we should be embracing it for the beautiful adventure that it truly is.
I can say that, because I’ve been there. Here I am at 23 years old and I’ve lived most of my life under the impression that fear was a worthy reason not to do something. Time and time again I missed incredible opportunities because I wasn’t confident in who I was- therefore I lived in fear of other people’s opinion.
But living in fear is like living on a leash– you can’t really live that way, can you?
Let me tell you another secret: Confidence is the key to living a life FREE of FEAR.
I’m getting ahead of myself.
Before we dig deep and free fall directly into this incredible adventure, we’ve gotta connect first.
See, I remember being your age and always having an overflow of people telling me things: how to live, how to dress, why I shouldn’t crush on Kyle Butler (lets be honest, I did that anyway), what career I should pursue, and what to say. And you know what? None of it real stuck with me unless I was truly connected to the person speaking.
The same goes for you and I.
In order for us to really connect, we’ve gotta connect on some pretty solid things. Like, mac & cheese and dance parties at sleepovers. So, I want you to do me a favor. I want you to pretend we’re eating mac & cheese on your kitchen counter.
We’re laughing because I just prank called my crush and professed my undying love to him. And as I do a victory dance in celebration of my major accomplishment- I fall off the counter.
I’m speaking truth when I say that’s actually happened before.
Then, somewhere between eating our mac & cheese and me falling off the counter it happens: we start sharing our hearts.
See, I wanna be that friend to you. I want for everything I say, to come at you from that standpoint:
I’m the girl who eats mac & cheese on your kitchen counter.
I’m the one doing life right alongside you, and who has struggled with the same things that you are struggling with.
Each week, I want to meet with you, right here. I want to speak truth into your life, to geek out over the latest fashion trends, and maybe talk a thing or two about my mild obsession with red lipstick.
And lemme tell you another secret: the most attractive thing we can put on each and every day isn’t an extra layer of makeup, a cute outfit, or even that wonderful shade of red lipstick.
Nope.
It’s confidence. Specifically, holy confidence.
And each of my posts to you will be drenched in it.
I want you to walk away from each post more aware, more encouraged, and more confident in who YOU are in Christ. That’s when life really begins. It begins when we stop worrying about what others think of us, and start boldly living this wonderful adventure we were destined for.
So, cheers. Let’s raise our imaginary mac & cheese and clink forks. We’re about to start the most incredible journey together.
And. I. Can’t. Wait.
xo

Anna!!! I am so excited for you(and all of us who get to read your words!)! I remember a blog post you posted probably almost a year ago. I read it and it’s still impacting me. How my confidence should be in Christ, and not make up or a relationship status.
Thank you for sharing your heart with the world; I can’t wait until I get to meet you face-to-face!
SO thankful for you, sweet Moriah!

It totally is! Can’t wait to do life with you, Allie! Xo
I think God had you write this just for me today. Wow. Isn’t that just.. AMAZING how God does those little things?! The elections were yesterday for me, as I’m sure they were for you too, and they’ve kinda got me in the mindset that I’m just one girl – I can’t make a change. I’ve been telling myself that my one vote won’t make a difference. Well… My state just elected a Christian lady as our US senator, and I couldn’t have been happier to go to my senior government class today. :) I may be one person, but if God could take Abram, turn him into Abraham, and make a nation, maybe He can use us to change the nation we already have. :) I’m super excited to “chat” with you every Wednesday.. Even though we won’t really be talking. ;) Who knows! Maybe we’ll speak someday in Glory! <3 xoxo ~Makayla Beth
Get it, Makayla! So stinking proud of you for keeping on ! You CAN change the world, and I can’t wait to see how ! Xo
