Hey ladies, my name is Megan! As Jessica mentioned last week, I am thrilled to be apart of the {Be Devoted} section of the blog with her. Our hearts are overflowing with joy, and we are excited to see what the Lord has in store!
I want to share with you a little bit of my heart today. This past week I’ve been learning what it means to “wait” on the Lord. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? I’ve observed how rushed our lives tend to get though…mine especially! The word “wait” and the phrase, “be still,” don’t necessarily catch our attention on the spot.
We have a lot of time-saving devices in our day and age, and with all the hustle and bustle of life…the faster we can get it done, the better. My question is, why do we still have such hectic lives? Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Okay, stop. Take a breather, and read that again. “Be still, and know that I am God.”
How would many react to that? Probably with a frantic reply such as, “Oh but I can’t! I really have to get this done!” What if I told you that to be still means to let go? Yes. That involves letting go of your to-do list. Letting go of having your life in order the way you have pictured it for years. Letting go involves a lot of faith, does it not?
There is no doubt that letting go is a hard, but much needed step that we must take. God doesn’t ask you to let go so that nothing happens. No, He is asking you to let go so that He can tell you, “Know that I am God. Know that I will meet your needs.” He longs to have fellowship with you. He wants your full attention.
Will you “be still” and let Him touch your heart?
