{Be Loving} Salvation and all that comes with it

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of posts from people who are in spiritual “dry spells” meaning they feel they are distant from God and from all of what He brings. Perhaps it’s just the season, or perhaps it’s something more but I knew I couldn’t ignore it.

With that, I want to remind you of something that is so easy to forget:

You have been SAVED.

Brought from death to life, called by name, adopted, given authority, empowered, I could go on and on! 

There’s nothing like a first love. It sweeps you off your feet and ignites a passion inside of you that you didn’t have prior. It brings us joy unbounded, limitless. When we first come to The Lord we are made new and excitement and joy overflows but it doesn’t stop there! He doesn’t cease which means all that He pours out on you doesn’t cease either.

When we meet Him, we are set free. This is a HUGE deal and if you haven’t thought about it in awhile I would recommend you do so. I think a lot of believers become so used to the fact that we have been brought from death to life that we go about our days acknowledging Jesus but not fully acknowledging all that comes with that in every moment of everyday. 

Every moment we are free. Every moment we are defended. Every moment we are JOY.

What I want to say is simple: take a moment to remember what has happened since you met God. Maybe your testimony is full of mess and trials, or maybe it’s full of light and continued relationship. Either way you have been saved. Either from the darkness you were living in or the darkness that might have come. This is EXCITING!!!

We meet God and fall in love. He brings us joy unlike anything ever has and ever will. So much so that you would do anything, wait forever, and give everything. If you’ve been feeling distant and dry, ask God to awaken you Him, your first love. Ask Him to awaken you so that you would be overflowing with the joy of salvation. You get to carry that joy everywhere you go and bring it to everyone you see.

Joy is a part of our identity in Christ. Claim it!
