Delight’s Red Lipstick Day!

I’m so excited to participate in Delight’s “Red Lipstick Day” this Saturday, the 19th! All of you lovely Delight ladies who desire to participate are encouraged post a picture of yourselves rocking your favorite shade of red on your social media accounts using the hashtags #delightandbebold or #delightrocksred !

I have been on the hunt for the perfect shade of red for myself for a while now, so I thought I’d go ahead and share some of my favorite finds from recent months. I’m very fair skinned, so I’ve learned a lot about warm and cool shades of red and colors that compliment skin tone during my search. (Thanks Pinterest for the seemingly endless tutorials!)

In case you’re clueless as to what color to choose, head to your nearest department store makeup counter, Sephora or drug store aisle and play–choose shades that you’re drawn to, and don’t be afraid to be a little daring!

First up, this shade from NYX (available at Target) called “Perfect Red.” It’s a little more on the orange/red side, but is a shade that looks great and bold on nearly everyone wanting a true bold red lip color.

I received this color of Nars “Cruella” in a sample pack from Sephora a while back and have since purchased it. The darker red, almost cranberry undertones look amazing against fair skin! I also love the smooth matte finish this pencil offers.

MAC offers this shade of “Dangerous” to those desiring a show-stopping red. This is also a matte finish. Definitely a favorite.

Covergirl offers this long lasting (hence the name) shade of “Siren” to those wanting the bold lip look to last from dawn until dusk. Hard to beat this shade, and the price!
