Today we’re getting to know another sweet lady from Illinois! (On my list of places to visit!) Bekah, you are so passionate about life and loving others and it was so nice to get to know you a bit better!
photo creds to the lovely Lisa Heegaard!
Who are you? People call me Bekah Wriedt and I’m 17. I live in Illinois. I’m a photographer and a nomad. My heart yearns to meet new faces and explore new places.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be? It changes on a daily basis; today I want to go backpacking in Peru, but yesterday I wanted to go to Greece. I continuously dream of going to Washington. But I adore Barcelona with my whole heart and i miss it so dearly. I just want to go everywhere.
What do you do? What’s your creative passion? I’m a photographer but I love video and calligraphy. check out my website: www.bekahwriedt.com
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? excited. passionate. dreamer
What is your favorite part about what you do? Oh I love all of the new places I go, the new people I meet, and all of the new things I learn.
What is your wildest dream? I just want to serve Christ using my passions. I’m not sure how they will mesh together, but He is sovereign and has a perfect plan.
What is once piece of advice you wish you’d been given five years ago? Just go do stuff, who cares what others think.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve been through and how have you grown from it? I was diagnosed with ALL leukemia when I was 7. It was hard. I learned many lessons and could write so much on that experience alone. But it made me treasure life and it gave me a renewed purpose.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why? What have they taught you that has made an impact?I have read so many books of Christian missionaries that have inspired me to give up my life to follow Christ. They all are put in different places to do different things to serve the same God. The redemption story and how God uses every single person is inspiring to me.
What is your favorite Bible verse? The passage that has impacted me right now is Matthew 14:22-33. Peter didn’t have faith, but God picked him right back up. I have been struggling in my faith and this was such a comfort to know God is right there picking me up and continuously showing his faithfulness to me.
