PTL Retreat 2012 {now named DELIGHT!}
I look at these pictures below and have a smile from ear to ear. These 16 girls below mean the word to me! When I had the honor of being a part of the Pursuing the Light Retreat last April, I had no idea that it was just the beginning. I share a little bit about how Delight came to be in a previous post, but the retreat was truly the starting point where God showed me personally that I was meant to be a part of teen girls lives. I don’t think any one of us came away unchanged. It was such an amazing time of growth both spiritually and as a photographer. It was a time of new friendships being formed. A time of laughter. A time of tears. A time of worship. A time that will never be forgotten. . .
We had the honor of having Jody Gray come to share her heart with us! Thank you, Jody, for sharing not only photography with us, but your love for Jesus as well!
We were blessed last year with two different worship leaders! A HUGE thank you to The Wicks! And to Izzi and her mom, Crystal Lewis. You all blessed us beyond measure!!
We had fun sessions of learning from each other and taking fun shots for portfolios and just for fun! :)
And what a better place than this to spend quiet time alone with Jesus. A time to pray, journal, reflect, dream and draw closer to our Heavenly Father.
And a huge thank you to Elise for putting together an amazing stylized session! It was a highlight of the whole weekend! I can’t wait to see what you have planned for this year! ;)
This was such an inspiring group of young women. . .ages 15-20 from all over the country. I still am blown away that eight states were represented and Canada as well! :) Love you girls!!
And what is a retreat without an afternoon out on the town! :) We had a blast shopping around the adorable quaint bavarian town of Leavenworth and getting a much-needed Starbucks! Caffeine was needed after late night chats! :)
Words and pictures truly can’t even begin to express what this time meant to me! I can honestly say that it was a highlight of my life. To see how God orchestrated the smallest most intimate details was mind-blowing. And the fact that God gave parents a peace to send their daughter across country on a plane to an unknown little town to be with women they didn’t knows still boggles my mind. As registration for the upcoming retreat launches, I am beyond excited to see what God has in store for this coming Delight retreat in April!
