“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
How do we determine our worth? Do we look at earthly measurements? Do we look at HIS standards? How do you see yourself?
I’ll be honest………if I looked in the mirror right now, my hair wet and in a towel, no make up, breakouts on my cheeks….according to this world I’d be considered a HOT MESS. But I just finished paying my bills, taking care of my home and responsibilities, and doing quiet time with the Lord. So maybe according to Him, I’m a little more put together than I seem. I don’t think anyone has ever described me as quiet and gentle but I’m working on having a gentle spirit; one that listens more than talks, forgives more each day, and seeks His face before His hand.
So think about not putting yourself down because you don’t feel like you have it all together. It’s ok, he doesn’t expect you to have all the answers. That’s HIS job. He knows where you are and he is working inside of you every second. Listen to Him, trust Him, and know that he loves you….Hot Mess and all.
