So many of us get sucked into thoughts that we need more gear and what we have isn’t good enough. Stop telling yourselves that! You are the artist; just being you is all the gear you need (well kinda). Don’t compare what’s in your bag with someone who makes $10,000 per wedding and has been shooting for 25 years. Obviously that’s everyone’s dream gear but it’s not going to happen.
These are the lenses that I personally shoot with now. But when I started I had a Canon Rebel xTi and my kit lens. I rocked that gear for a while before I added in a 70-300 and then the cheapest 50mm I could get my hands on. I’ve sold my original gear and upgraded twice. I’m glad to say that I never bought anything until I had the money for it. I never wanted to go into debt.
Learn the gear that you have and you’ll be able to do beautiful work with it. As long as your talent, vision, and creativity are being used you will grow in your business and then later you can upgrade your gear list. Don’t stress that you don’t have the latest gear….most people don’t.
