Delight House Update

If you would have told me a year ago what would occur in a year’s time, I would not have believed you. Nor would I have wanted to. My heart’s desire was to full heartedly commit to fundraising and completing the Delight House in 2014. But God had other plans. . .

We had a website up and going and were ready to start the non-profit when the worst fire in Washington State history came within feet of burning down the Delight House as well as our own home. There is no explanation other than God stopping the fire as there was no manpower to fight the 80 foot flames. Three hundred and fifty-seven homes were incinerated into a three inch pile of ash. To say that our lives changed the night of July 17th is an understatement. Our family’s focus changed overnight from the Delight House to fire relief and helping our community.

We are now in full force trying to complete the house and get the first event ready in July of 2015!! That is not very far away & we need your help! Currently, we are in the process of having the interior of the house painted.

Once the paint is completed, we have the following projects left on the inside:
#1—Appliances
#2—Countertops
#3—Grout work
#4—Fireplace
#5—Insulation
#6—Farmhouse table stained
#7—All items purchased for the home. . .beds, bedding, dishes, towels, etc.

Next week, we are also starting the exterior siding of the home. And if I can be honest, we are stepping out in faith trusting that God will provide. In order to keep our insurance, we have 90 days (now 70!) to have the exterior siding completed. We don’t know where the funds are coming from and asking you to join us in prayer for provision.

We have seen God provide over and over throughout this entire project. . .from the amazing Delight Mentorships (the money made from this fundraiser will cover all the appliances!!) and the non-profit fundraiser we held back in December that will pay for all the legal fees!
