Delight Wedding Workshop Styled Shoot In Lake Chelan, Washington

When you come to a Delight Workshop, you’re not only getting to hang out with some awesome fellow wedding photographers, learning from industry leaders who love Jesus, and exploring the landscape of beautiful Washington state… but you’re also putting to practice what you’re being taught through a styled shoot! Working hands-on with a bride and groom, reception details, and even getting ready shots with your workshop leaders is an invaluable experience because you get the unique opportunity to see how they work on a wedding day. For instance, Kelly Lemon spent some time showing the girls how she sets up clean detail shots and keeps the rings stable as she photographs them. Then Emily Magers demonstrated how she encourages natural yet intimate moments to happen during getting ready candid photos. We also talked about finding natural light and minimizing distractions in any getting ready space! And then we moved on to photographing reception details and finally bride and groom portraits in a variety of lighting situations, including the dark shade of trees, the bright sun in a wide open field, backlighting during golden hour, and continuing to photograph beautiful, naturally lit portraits even after we lose sunlight for the day. From posing Annalee & Scot in about one hundred different wedding day poses to getting the perfect flowy veil portrait, the hour we spent on bride and groom portraits was such an amazing and insightful experience. I can only imagine how much the attendees learned – I know I walked away with some new ideas for how to pose on a wedding day, too!!
