Something shifts when you give your life to Christ. This is perhaps overly obvious to most of you, but to me that wasn’t the case. Growing up I saw a lot of people who professed Christ but didn’t love Him. They were still living in sin and I couldn’t understand why I needed a savior if it meant nothing changed in my heart or my life. I wanted to be free, not shackled.
It took God’s use of one man over the course of a year to bring me to Jesus. This man showed me who Jesus is though his absolute love for God and people; I was blown away by how he lived his life and how he spoke about Jesus like He was standing right in front of him.
I had recently turned 19 and was preparing to graduate from cosmetology school when I had a dream that I gave my life to Christ. Explaining what happened in that dream is quite impossible but I would like to note that I hadn’t had a dream that I recalled whatsoever in nearly 4 years until that night.
Overcome by His peace and His love, I woke up differently. Hope was real suddenly and it was Jesus. Love was within my reach and it surrounded me. Freedom wasn’t something I had to fight for, it had already been given. To say my life has absolutely changed since surrendering to Christ would be putting it so lightly.
What I was living in prior was awful. Tormented by my thoughts, I lost grip of who I was completely and spent 10 years trying to find ways to cope that only brought me to disordered eating and self-harm. Struggling to get by, I spent most of my time not in school sleeping. Suicide not only was a passing thought, but attempts and hospitalizations were involved.
But God.
But God saved me. He pursued my so relentlessly. He pulled me from the depths and gave me a song to sing.
It is a song of redemption.
More events that I could account all lead to this moment where I found myself part of community living in Huntington Beach, CA with approximately 35 other radical lovers of Jesus who live to see people saved, trained, and sent. We are a group of artists, evangelists, entrepreneurs, teachers, musicians, university activists, and more. We are obsessed with the presence of God and aim to keep His Word central in our lives at all times.
That said, my section of the blog {be loved} is all about how to love, love well, and be loved. Fridays will be filled with stories of God’s love flowing though ordinary people who declared “USE ME” and never looked back. I am so thankful for Delight and am so thrilled and honored to be writing for this blog!
There is always an answer. There is always hope.
His name is Jesus.

I literally have tears in my eyes and my arms are covered in goosebumps. THIS. my heart is echoing “yes” a thousand times over. oh, His love, His grace, and His redemption… how it makes my heart sing!
I’m so excited to be able to see more of your heart on here in the future! xoxo.
This is so cool! I love tangible examples of the grace of God. It’s so amazing to me how we serve a God who desires for us to know Him! We aren’t just a number on this earth, we are known, loved, and specifically created for a purpose. Thanks for that reminder today!
