Ready or not summer is here and I have an amazing lineup of summer shoots to share with YOU over the next few weeks! Today we have delight girl, Ariella, sharing this bright & cheery session! More from the artist herself!
Name/business name: Ariella/Ariella Noelle Photography
Something short and sweet about you: I’m a natural light senior and portrait photographer in western Washington who is just dipping my toe into weddings this season! Seniors are my absolute favorite!
About this session: This session checked off a box on my wish list – photograph a gorgeous redhead! (yep, I’ve always secretly dreamed of having red hair)
Did this session challenge you? A few things were challenging, but worked out great in the end. The location was totally new to me. I arrived 30 minutes early to do some scouting, but the park was too big to cover and I didn’t know my way around yet. I looked for some great light to start the session and then relied on my senior and her mom to show me around to some of the best spots while stopping whenever I saw some great light! Also, back-lighting when the sun is still high is always a challenge, but I LOVE that look! Using the trees and bridge to diffuse the light or block some rays helped a lot in this session.
What gear was used: I used my Canon 6D, Sigma 50mm 1.4 and Canon 85 1.8 for a few shots.
Why photography?: I always loved the “idea” of photography as a kid, but couldn’t get my pictures to look like my “vision”, so I stuck to painting and drawing. However, painting and drawing took me so many hours that I eventually realized that photography was a much faster way to get a beautiful result! The moment I remember defining my real “why” for photography and deciding to “go for it” was after getting my family photos done by an amazing photographer and friend Lorraine of Lorraine Marie Photography. She captured us and our relationships so beautifully that my heart cried, “I want to do that too!”
How does your relationship with Jesus effect your work? Before each shoot, I pray I will honor the Lord, ask him to help me capture my subjects beautifully and to help me with my every interaction with them. I’m always reminding myself that my business is His and to trust Him with each new step in being a business owner.
