Delight’s Housewarming

Oh my goodness!!! I am finally writing the post I have been dreaming about for months and months!!! GUESS what?? The Delight House is almost finished! We just need your help! And this time it is FUN!! Who doesn’t love to decorate? I love pinterest & I love dreaming about decorating, but when it comes right down to it. . .I think I’m going to need someone to come help me make it look pinterest worthy! :)

On January 2nd, 2014, we were given the keys to the Delight House. Now, almost 19 months later after a tremendous amount of hard work and money, we are almost done! All I can say is “Thank you, Jesus!” I don’t think that I could handle another month of this process! It has been the most faith-building and most challenging steps of obedience I have ever taken. But I also believe that the reward will be so worth it. There is a saying “Why not go out on a limb? Isn’t that where the fruit is?” and I believe that this “leap of faith” will be more fruitful that I can humanly imagine.

Now that the house is ready. . .we need to make it a home! So we are having a house-warming party!!!! Because most of you who are reading this don’t live locally, we are trying to figure out what an online “housewarming” looks like! :) We have a registry of things needed to get the house completely ready for it’s first guests!! From measuring cups to bunkbeds, there are things listed on the registry that the house needs. Make sure to check back in from time to time the next month as I keep remembering things (like garbage cans!) that are necessities!

Our prayer is to have all the items needed by the end of July as Karen Stott of Intentional Home will be here visiting & is going to help me with ideas on how to decorate! What an answer to prayer! We will also be hosting a local Housewarming Party on July 30th, so if you are local, mark your calendars!

There are two ways you can be instrumental in having the Delight House ready for its first ever event in September! #1—PRAY!! Will you commit to pray that this home will be a home that glorifies Jesus? That it will be a home that mightily changes lives? A home that people will walk back out through the door and leave feeling hope and joy? A home that will be filled with laughter? A home that will inspire & provide for needs of others? #2—GIVE!! Whether a toilet plunger, washcloths or dishes, the house is empty right now and needs to be filled up! We are starting fresh, so everything would be so appreciated!
