{Personal Experience} Pursuit 31 Conference 2012
Have you ever had a moment in your life that NO word is good enough to really describe the experience??? Well the Pursuit 31 Conference is definitely one of those experiences for me. To say that I’m excited to return this year and attend with the line up is an understatement. EXCITED!!!!
Last year there were amazing speakers and amazing attendees. I won’t lie, I felt uncomfortable/too new/not good enough. But that lasted until I drove up to WinShape.
Just arriving I was welcomed by wonderful people. I remember walking up and Jody Gray saying hey to me like we were both just normal people. We are, but I was a little star struck. Hello!! She’s successful and awesome! But it was like meeting a new friend. Our luggage was delivered to our rooms, we signed in, checked in, and got to take in everything around us.
So last year Karen Stott, Jody Gray, Katelyn James, Alicia Candelora, Mary Marantz, Dawn Davis, and Jane Johnson were speakers. Plus the wonderful and talented Gabrielle von Heyking was our worship leader.
The pinch-me-I’m-dreaming thing about this conference is that not only did we hear these fabulous successful women talk about photography, they discussed their faith and testimonies. Then we mingled, we ate together, we prayed together, we worshiped together. Who would have ever thought that this would really happen?
You would think that with all of these great photographers I would have left with a new look on my business and I did. BUT, I can honestly say that my spiritual relationship and life grew far more than my photography life.
Rest and rejuvenation were supposed to be part of the plan of this conference, but I feel like love, friendship, and a fire lit inside of all of us is what really happened. I am blessed to have met such amazing women. Blessed to have made new friends. Blessed to laugh and dance with some of the most successful women in the industry. Crazy how life happens.
If you are on the fence about going, I know it’s a large investment….Just do it! I, from the bottom of my heart, promise that you will get so much out of it. You will grow as a woman of God, life, this world, and photography. You’ll gain wonderful friends in this industry to help you, encourage you, and give you that boost when you’re down. Plus it’s gorgeous there!!!
