Today, we’re getting today the sweet Julie from New Hampshire! <3
Who are you? I am Julie of Green Gables—er, Julie of New Hampshire. I’m 17 years old.I’m
peanut butter’s biggest fan, I love cuddly animals of all shapes and sizes, and I’m Slytherin.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? As I am a huge lover of travel, this question is impossible! Some of my must-travel-to-someday places though are Italy, Scotland, Ireland, and every state in the United States.
What do you do? My creative passions are rather spread out. I love writing (all sorts of things, but novels are my favorite to write), photography, and music.
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Compassionate, Stubborn, and Spirited. Compassionate because I have a heart for people in need, stubborn because I’m not afraid to stick up for my opinion, and spirited because I’m a wild dreamer.
How did you discover your creative passion? With writing, I told myself I could write a book. It turned into a five book series. It was terrible. With music, I began taking piano lessons around the age of 10. I loved it, and began to branch out to other instruments as well (guitar, drums, etc.). With photography, I remember taking our old Canon Powershot Pro1 outside and snapping a pretty good shot of a rose. I have since fallen in love with the art of capturing memories.
What is your favorite part about what you do? I love to tell stories, both with writing and photography. Storytelling, whether fiction or non-fiction, is a great way to get my feelings and emotions out of my head in a subtle way.
What is your wildest dream? To travel the country—and WORLD—taking pictures of the sights I see and the people I meet and writing about them.
What is one piece of advice you wish you’d been given five years ago? To not let people hold you down. Sometimes you just need to let people go and be your own person. Be who God wants you to be, not who other people want you to be.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve been through and how have you grown from it? I lost my two best friends—to each other. It was a long and complicated process, and it dragged me down. However, I have come out on the other side and I am stronger. I have grown up a lot and matured through the process.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why? I honestly can’t narrow it down to one person. There are many inspiring people in my life, and I don’t think we should have to just pick one. My parents inspire me to be the best I can be, photographers I follow inspire me to get out there and shoot, authors inspire me to write (and read), musicians inspire me to sing. I think everyone we meet touches our lives in some way if we look for it.
What is your favorite Bible verse? Micah 6:8. “He has shown you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly?”
Until next week!
xoxo
