Meet Kristina {Be Encouraged Editor}

Hello my friends! I am Kristina Hurd and I will be handling the {Be Encouraged} section of our blog! I know that probably means very little to you at the moment, but let me give you a little glimpse into who I am and why I am a part of Delight!

First, lets start with who I am. I am twenty years old and I live in a suburb of Philadelphia. I recently moved back home to PA after spending a year working for a christian camp and conference center in North East Maryland. Even though PA is home, a part of my heart will now always be in MD as well. I have two amazing older brothers, awesome parents and an adorable golden retriever named Abby.

My love for photography started when I was around the age of fourteen when I got my first digital camera. When I was sixteen I remember one day sitting at my best friends house looking at pictures I had taken of her and when I looked, I could still hear her laugh and remember the feeling of the moment that we had shared. That moment is when I realized that photography is what I love and what I want to do! Along with photography, I have a passion for encouraging and mentoring young women. I know it isn’t easy to grow up and figure out who you are and what you want to be, but having someone walk with you and be your “big sister” through it all can make a huge difference! I do not have any sisters of my own but over the past few years I have adopted many “little sisters” and I cannot begin to tell you how proud of them all I am! There is nothing I love more than seeing young women embrace who God created them to be and use their gifts and talents to bring honor and glory to the Lord.

This brings me to Delight! In April I had the honor of attending the Pursuing the Light (now named Delight!) conference in Washington put on by Katie Campbell and Kristin Wall. It was an amazing weekend of learning about photography and also being challenged to grow in our relationships with the Lord. I was the oldest of the girls that attended but that didn’t matter because I got to know fifteen wonderful young women who are serving the Lord and who are amazing at photography! Katie and Kristin soon became dear friends of mine as well and I have been so blessed to have them in my life! When Kristin asked me to be a part of the Delight blog I was beyond excited and humbled that she would ask me to be a part of something so unique and inspiring!

My portion of the blog will be dedicated to showcasing people or things that I think are inspiring and that inspire me to grow as an artist and woman of God! I hope you will join with us in this new endeavor as we learn, grow and hope to inspire!
