Oh my gosh you guys!!! I can’t believe it’s already been over a week since we all went back home to our husbands from Delight’s VERY first Cultivating the Heart of a Wife Intensive! It was full of all this marriage, from hospitality, budgeting, more marriage advice than we could go through, and even what it looks like to create simple, affordable, and yummy meals for two!! Now…my hands were covered in alfredo sauce and fresh basil, so you’ll have to pardon the iPhone shots for this week’s post!!! ;) The food was more important to me than getting the perfect image, but I just had to share this way-too-easy pizza recipe that you could create your own variations of!!
And in even better news, these organic pizza crusts are on sale at Costco right now!!
Pesto Alfredo Flatbread Pizza {Serves 2-3}
1 premade organic pizza crust (these ones were already pre-baked, but Trader Joes sells the fresh dough if you want an easy alternative!)
1/2 cup alfredo sauce
1/4 cup pesto
1 roma tomato, sliced thinly
1/2 red onion, sliced thinly
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
2/3 cup deli turkey, chopped
1/4 cup artichoke hearts, optional
1/4 cup sun dried tomatoes, optional
1/4 cup sliced kalamata olives, optional
Feta cheese, as much as desired ;)
Parmesan cheese, as much as desired ;)
In a small bowl, combine alfredo and pesto sauce and spread evenly over the pizza crust. Then layer the crust with tomato, onion, basil, and turkey, and top with the cheeses! Grind a little fresh black pepper and bake at 400 degrees until bubbly! For garnish, add more fresh basil or a balsamic glaze (sold at Trader Joes and most grocery stores!!) To eat like a pizza, slice into eight even pieces. For more of a flatbread, slice across pizza three times, and across again 3-4 times to create little “squares” :)
Enjoy!!!
