Katelyn James is coming to the Delight House!!!!

Little did I know back in 2011, when I first met Katelyn James that I would be writing something as crazy amazing as this!! In February of 2011, I had just met Karen Stott (now one of my bestest friends ever!) in Las Vegas at WPPI (a conference for photographers). She asked me if I wanted to tag along to a meet-up where her friend Katelyn was sharing. I had never heard of Katelyn, but wanted to spend more time with Karen, so I said “sure!” :) Well, it was a tiny group of people & I remember Katelyn leaning over to Karen and saying “I don’t even know why they asked me to share.” I remember her asking Karen to pray because she was nervous. What I remember most sitting there in the motel room was thinking “God has a plan for this amazing young woman’s life!!” And He sure has!! It has been such a blessing and so exciting to watch how Katelyn has used the platform God has given her to bring HIM the glory!

I have been blessed over the past four years to attend Pursuit, United & other photography events where I have been able to connect with Katelyn and get to know her & her heart. Every time I am with her, I dream of her coming to lead the Delight girls because I know that she would be so inspiring and so full of truth that the girls need to hear!! As the Delight House was getting built, I prayed specifically over names of women hoping and believing God would bring to speak truth into the hearts of young women. Katelyn was seriously the first on my list as I would pray. Partially because the Delight House is full of all things “aqua” and aqua makes me think of Katelyn! ;) You should check out her website!

Well, the exciting news that I can’t keep quiet any longer is that Katelyn is coming to the Delight House!!! She will be coming to share at the upcoming “Cultivating the Heart of a Wife” workshop in February. It is such a blessing & honor to have her and Michael (her awesome husband) coming! I always envisioned that she would come and teach a photography workshop, but this makes my heart even happier. BECAUSE my heart’s passion is for engaged and newly married women!

Katelyn James started her professional photography career as a Junior in college and was shooting 25+ weddings annually within her second year. After growing her business and gaining recognition in national publications such as Professional Photographers Magazine, The Knot, Southern Living Weddings, Southern Weddings and Eco Weddings, she began teaching and coaching photographers from all over the country and internationally.

Katelyn hosts workshops throughout the year and monthly coaching sessions at her home in Richmond, VA. Recently, Katelyn has been joined by her husband Michael and they are officially a husband/wife team. Since joining forces, Katelyn and Michael average 36 weddings annually. Their work has also been featured numerous times on national wedding blogs such as Real Simple, Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, Inspired by This, Grey Likes Weddings and Green Wedding Shoes.
