Romantic and Playful Engagement Photography Inspiration

A little Introduction: Whatever Is Lovely Photography, by Micaela Hall
Something short and sweet about you: I’m 20 years old and I’ve lived in GA all my life, but I LOVE traveling. Vanilla lattes are my favorite, and I love all things floral. ‘Grace’ is my favorite word. I love my family and friends, but most of all I love my Savior.
About this session: We chose to do this engagement session at a local library because the bride is a librarian and a lover of history, and they BOTH love to read! This location was old and historical and charming. It was perfect for them! During the session, he read John Adams’ love letters to his wife aloud to her. It was her favorite book, and she was his soon-to-be-bride.
Did this session challenge you? Definitely! I’m used to working outside with natural light and natural surroundings! Being in an environment with less than ideal light and bookshelves challenged me to think a little bit outside the box! They each brought their favorite book, and so I had some props to work in as well.
What gear was used: I shot this session with my Canon 6D and a Sigma 35 ART lens!
Why do you choose photography?: To me photography is such a special way to tell a person’s story. It’s so much more than just ‘taking pictures’ – it’s getting to know hearts, and reflecting that in a tangible memory for them to treasure.
How does your relationship with Jesus effect your work? My relationship with Jesus effects my work because my mission and my vision is to bring glory to Him. Whether it’s just the way I interact with clients, or the way I conduct my meetings, or praying for them on a wedding day, I want people to look at me and see Him. Some of the compliments I’ve been encouraged by the most are when people tell me that Jesus is so evident in what I do! I want to love others well through photography, because He first loved ME
