Today I get to share with you our very own delight girl, Lyndsey Smyth! When she shared this summer-style photoshoot with me I was excited to get it on the blog! All across the nation we are feeling summer head-on! I know I can at least speak for us southern Californians, it was 110 degrees outside! Introduce yourself!

I’m an upcoming Senior at the University of Kentucky, and my goals in life are to be a full time wedding photographer and work in ministry/church planting! This session was for my second ever senior rep, Alexis! I couldn’t have asked for a better model. She’s absolutely the sweetest and most down to earth girl. I feel like everything just fell into place perfectly for her modest and girly style!

How did this session challenge you? This session was actually probably the easiest I’ve had all year! It went so smoothly, we laughed the entire day, and I felt like the entire session was effortless! We roamed around Lexington, KY to some locations that I felt best reflected her personality.

Whats in your camera bag? For this session I used a Nikon D750 and a Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens!

How does your relationship with Jesus effect your work? Photography has always been a little side hobby of mine to make some extra cash until this year. I could have never dream ed up the amazing things God is doing with my business. As of two months ago I’ve decided not to continue on to grad school, but instead to pursue my dreams in photography! I honestly can’t even explain it. The Lord has continually aligned thing after thing after thing for me to be able to do photography full time and to grow so much in this business. I’ve come to realize that one of the largest tools God has given me to help me grow in photography is Delight. The community, inspiration, and advice I’ve found in these girls has absolutely blown my mind and I wouldn’t be able to produce images like these without my Delight girls!

I find it so ironic that this question is be asked because it was just two weeks ago that I found a new way of looking at my photography. Whether I’m shooting or editing, I am overwhelmed. I have been allowing The Holy Spirit to guide my vision in everything I do! I have made it my goal to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through my work. I want my images to reflect what I, personally, feel, hear, and see when I’m resting in the presence of God! And because of this, it’s made all the difference in my work!
