As I was thinking about ways to encourage you ladies this verse came to my mind –
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” –John 14:27
So often when things get crazy in my life and I feel overwhelmed it is my instant reaction to complain to my family or call my best friend so I can vent about whatever it is that I think is going “SO wrong” in my life. This kind of venting helps for a little while and may even help me feel justified in my feelings of hurt or anger (can you say pity party!? or misery loves company!?), but this always leaves something lacking – PEACE. When I vent and complain I am taking my frustrations and placing them on the people around me instead of taking them to the one who can take those feelings away and leave peace and hope in their place. In this verse God promises us supernatural peace NOT a peace from this world but a peace from HIM! Why do I so often choose to settle for the World’s best instead of going to the Lord and receiving something infinitely better from Him? Because I am a sinful being, daily in need of grace from the Lord! Even though I have been saved by grace through the Lord Jesus I must daily put away my sinful attraction to things of this world and choose something far better and more glorious – the way of the Lord.
What is there in your life this week that you need to give over to the Lord so that you can accept his peace?
May you rest in the Lord and in His strength this week as you daily put HIM first and choose to follow His leading in your life. With much love, Kristina

Thank you very much for sharing this!! Definitely something I too struggle to remember – to run right to God when I start to feel anxious, and know that His plans are perfect :)
