Summer is ALMOST HERE even though it already feels like it. The sun is shining, kids are out of school, and weddings are in full swing. And with summer coming, that means BBQ’ing is happenin’! And what’s the best snack to go with a yummy (veggie) burger? French fries, duh! You’re gonna flip over these because they’re baked in an OVEN and not fried in grease! So you’re not going to feel gross after eating them. Happy Summer friends!
BAKED CAJUN STYLE FRENCH FRIES
(recipe and photo from: The Milo & Me Blog by Keary)
INGREDIENTS:
-4 large russet potatoes
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
-1 tsp ground garlic
-1/2 tsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp cayenne
-1 tsp paprika
-1 tsp dried oregano
-olive oil
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper (DO NOT use foil or your fries will stick)
3. Cut fries to about 1/2 inch thickness or so
4. Spread fries on baking sheet evenly, don’t overcrowd them or they won’t bake evenly/properly
5. Drizzle olive oil over fries.
6. Mix all seasonings together in a small bowl and sprinkle over fries.
7. Bake for 15 minutes. Toss fries around so the other sides can bake and return to the over for about another 15 min. (Fries may need more or less time based on the thickness of your fries. But I like mine a little golden and crispy)
makes about 6 servings
