{Be Devoted} I’ll Sing In The Valley

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.”

Habakkuk 3:17-19

   Habakkuk is one of my favorite books in the Bible and I am really quite thrilled to share with you a few things that have been on my heart recently. Whenever I go back to Habakkuk, I am always humbled by Habakkuk’s attitude, to all the trouble that was happening around him. You see…Habakkuk never tried to pretend that his problems were not there. Instead, he saw his problems for what they were and REMEMBERED that God was greater still.

How often do we end up occupying ourselves from our problems though? I mean…it is quite tempting to be honest! Dealing with your problems is never pleasant…but the thing is, you have to face your dilemmas. You have to face them head on and IN that, you will start to SEE that God is greater still. That is how we are able to triumph in the middle of the conditions that are so hard to go through. God is sovereign and He won’t leave you hanging.

You see…we will fall short at times. We are weak. Even Habakkuk trembled and his lips quivered!

Know this…it is okay to admit you are afraid…BUT ALWAYS LET FAITH HAVE THE LAST WORD!

Don’t forget, the Lord will make your feet tread on high places and He will deliver you to a place of complete faith. When your heart is rooted in Christ, you will have a heavenly perspective.

Ask God to give you His view.

Rejoice and take joy in the Lord. Sing in the valley, as He prepares you for the mountain tops… and the many other valleys and mountain tops to come.
