What do you really believe about yourself?
I take that question literally to the heart.
What are you reminded of, at the end of the day?
Do you dwell on the mess ups and heartaches you have encountered?
I think it’s safe to say that we put a lot of attention on the negative side of things.
Someone once told me, “You need to have more grace on yourself.”
Have grace on…myself?
What did that look like?!
First of all, I had to understand that there would be messy days and heartaches.
Just as Christ has grace on my wrongdoings, I also had to give myself grace. I had to search the scriptures to remind myself of who I really was in Christ. You may feel like the lowest and dirtiest person around…but He sees differently when we come before Him.
So, when I was asked awhile back, “What do you really believe about yourself,” I wasn’t so focused on the truth.
That had to change and it started with my heart and what I believed to be true about me.
With that being said, I want to share with you the valuable reminders that helped clear away my silly way of thinking.
May you find hope and encouragement as you read, about the real you.
You are loved – 1 John 4:10
You are redeemed – Gal. 3:13
You are more than a conqueror – Rom 8:37
You are holy and blameless in God’s sight – Col 1:22
You are God’s child – John 1:12
You are fearfully and wonderfully made – Ps. 139:14
You are constantly on God’s mind – Ps. 139:14
You are freely given God’s grace – Eph 1:6
You are part of a chosen generation – 1 Pet. 2:9
You have all spiritual blessings – Eph 1:6
You have the boldness of a lion – Prov. 28:1
You are a sinner – Rom. 3:23
You have freedom from the slavery to sin – Rom. 6:22
Jesus Christ died for your sins – Rom 5:8
God has forgotten your sins – Heb 8:12
You will never be forgotten or forsaken – Hew 13:5
That is the truth. This is who YOU are in Christ! Nothing can separate you from God’s love. You are beautiful and cherished in His sight. When we are less focused on “self” we get to see what Christ has done. You are not saved by who you are or what you have done, you are saved by who Christ is and what He has done.
