Having the Confidence to Say It {Be Successful with Lacey}
Let’s be real….no one will know you’re a photographer if you don’t tell them. Right? Well that’s what my husband has had to remind me about time and time again for the last year. I used to be a vet tech, with what I thought was a path to vet school. That’s how everyone knew me. And then it happened……..I CHANGED MY MIND and I only wanted to be a photographer. But I was supposed to be telling people this, right? For some reason, I felt ashamed. Not because I wanted to be a photographer but because all my life I wanted to be a vet and I didn’t want me changing my mind to be seen or thought of as me failing. This was just in my mind though. Who cares what strangers think. Have of them still ask me if I’m in college (I graduated in 2009). So really…who’s paying attention?
I want you to have the confidence I know have. When I meet new people I love saying that I’m a photographer and most of the time someone makes a joke about “shooting” people or animals. It’s fun, my personality shows, and I try to sneak in my business card so they can see what I’m all about.
Are you telling everyone you’re a photographer? Are you telling them your an artist/writer/painter/storyteller? What are you telling them? Know that you should be proud of what you’re doing and you want to get your name out there. It’s easy to tell people you’re doing it. They might be interested. They might hire you. They might pass your name along. They might do nothing. But who knows what will happen when you step out of your comfort zone and start sharing what you do.

I do pray that you are confident in yourself and how you are serving the Lord. Use what you have to share his goodness. Continue to be proud of your craft and yourself. JUST DO IT!!!!
